After 15 years of solo travel, I thought it was time to use my experiences to help inspire others to take the road less traveled. Combining my love of off-the-beaten-path travel with local style and customs, I’ll share my adventures from the less traditional travel destinations. Come join me!

just waiting to be discovered.
As much as I enjoy city trips and weekend jaunts, it’s unpaved roads and hiking through jungles that I love most. Ever had to hitchhike from the Equator in Uganda when your driver had to run from the police? I have. What about navigated a political uprising in Peru? Been there.
Although we all might not seek adrenaline fueled trips, I hope my decade and a half of solo traveling in the more far-flung corners of the world will inspire you to take the road less traveled.

I’m Jennifer
When I originally came up with the idea for The Cosmopolite many years ago, I wanted to combine the things I loved most: adventure travel and fashion. Although two ideas that might not often overlap, but as my adventures took me into local tribes and indigenous groups the desire to tell those style stories became impossible to ignore.
Balancing between accounts of my own adventures (and misadventures) and on-the-ground storytelling from the local people I meet along the way, I aim to share the heritage and tradition of the role fashion plays in local cultures. From Ethiopia to Peru, I have had the pleasure of speaking to designers, artisans, and often overlooked people who have incredible stories to tell.
